Frequently Asked Questions
Is a waterproofing membrane a finished floor surface?
No. Liquid-applied waterproofing membranes are base layers designed to be protected by a topcoat, wearing course, tile, or screed. Exposed membranes will degrade under UV and traffic without an approved protection system.
What’s the difference between PPM and FLEXCOAT-PU?
ResinTech PPM is a protective polymer membrane designed for traffic-bearing systems in parkades and podium decks. ResinTech FLEXCOAT-PU is a single-component polyurethane membrane suited for balconies, roofs, and below-grade waterproofing. Contact us to confirm the right product for your application.
How many coats of membrane are required?
Most liquid-applied membranes require 2–3 coats to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Refer to the product data sheet for application rates and recoat windows.
Can waterproofing membranes be used in BC’s wet climate?
Yes — our waterproofing systems are specifically suited for BC’s high-rainfall environment. Proper detailing at drains, edges, and penetrations is critical for long-term performance.
