ResinTech SLT — Self-Levelling Topping — 50 lb (22.7 kg)

ResinTech SLT — Self-Levelling Topping

Polishable Cementitious Floor Topping • Interior & Exterior • 50 lb (22.7 kg) bag | Brand: ResinTech | Code: SLT (formerly SLC)

ResinTech SLT is a cementitious self-levelling topping that cures to a smooth, flat, dense and durable floor. Use it as the finished cementitious floor topping — sealed, or ground and polished — or as a levelling underlayment beneath epoxy, polyaspartic, resin, tile and vinyl flooring systems. ResinTech states it is suitable for interior and exterior floors; it is applied at 5–40 mm. For use by trained flooring contractors and applicators. Confirm suitability against the current ResinTech TDS, SDS and project specification before use.

Key Benefits

• Rapid early-strength gain — declared compressive strength 8.0 MPa min. at 24 h; light foot traffic in approx. 2 h
• Low drying shrinkage — 0.05% max. (declared), reducing cracking and delamination risk
• Self-smoothing, high-flow formula for a flat, dense, durable surface
• Strong substrate adhesion — bond strength 2.0 MPa min. (declared)
• Polishable finished floor topping (ResinTech product-use statement; see FAQ) — also suitable as a levelling underlayment
• Interior and exterior applications per ResinTech; low odour

Specifications

Strength, flow, shrinkage, bond and abrasion values are the manufacturer's declared values determined by the JC/T 985-2017 test methods (ASTM equivalents for comparison only: C109, C348, C1583, C1708, C157, C779). JC/T 985-2017 is scoped to interior floors; exterior suitability and polishability are ResinTech product-use statements, not test results. No freeze–thaw or de-icing-salt test data has been published — confirm exposed exterior use with ResinTech for the specific project.

Coverage per 50 lb Bag

Theoretical, based on approx. 15 kg/m² at 10 mm thickness on a smooth, level substrate. Actual coverage varies with substrate profile, porosity and application method — verify by mock-up.

Typical Applications

• Finished cementitious floor topping for commercial, retail, industrial and residential floors — sealed or polished
• Polished self-levelling concrete topping over sound existing slabs (confirm the grinding sequence by mock-up)
• Renovation and resurfacing of sound, uneven or worn concrete, interior or exterior
• Levelling underlayment beneath epoxy, polyaspartic, resin, tile and vinyl flooring systems

Directions for Use

1. Prepare a clean, sound, dust-free substrate, free of oil, laitance and curing compounds. Mechanically prepare as required and install edge forms.
2. Prime as required by substrate porosity and condition; let the primer cure as directed.
3. Mix one full 50 lb (22.7 kg) bag into 4.5–5 L of clean water with a low-speed drill and paddle to a lump-free, pourable consistency. Do not over-water.
4. Pour and spread to 5–40 mm within the working time; use a spiked roller to release entrapped air.
5. Protect from rapid drying, rain and traffic until set. Seal once an acceptable moisture content is reached, or grind and polish after the topping has gained strength (not before 24 h; confirm by mock-up).

ResinTech SLT as an Alternative to Mapei® Ultratop® PC and SikaLevel®-250 / Sika® Level-25

Contractors in BC often search for a polishable self-levelling concrete topping by the brand they already know. ResinTech SLT is a Canadian-distributed alternative in the same category — a 50 lb bag, 5–40 mm, self-levelling cementitious topping that can be left exposed, sealed or polished. The table compares published figures from each manufacturer's current Canadian data sheet so you can judge fit for your project; it is not a claim of equivalence.

Competitor figures are taken from Mapei's Ultratop PC TDS (ed. 2013-12-20) and Sika Canada's SikaLevel-250 PDS (v02.10, March 2026) as published online on 9 October 2026; check each manufacturer's current sheet before specifying. "Sika Level-25" is an earlier name for Sika's 22.7 kg self-levelling product line. Mapei® and Ultratop® are trademarks of Mapei S.p.A.; Sika® and SikaLevel® are trademarks of Sika AG. Canopus Supply and ResinTech are not affiliated with or endorsed by either company; brand names are used only to identify the products being compared.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can ResinTech SLT be left as the finished floor?

Yes. SLT is a cementitious floor topping and can stay exposed as the finished floor — sealed with a compatible sealer, or ground and polished. For heavy industrial or vehicular traffic, apply a compatible flooring system over it.

Can ResinTech SLT be polished like Mapei Ultratop PC?

ResinTech states the cured topping can be mechanically ground and polished. ResinTech has not yet published a polishing procedure or gloss data, so establish the grinding sequence, start time (not before 24 h) and expected appearance by site mock-up before committing a project.

Can ResinTech SLT be used outside?

ResinTech states SLT is suitable for interior and exterior floors. No freeze–thaw or de-icing-salt test data has been published; for exterior floors that freeze while saturated or see de-icing salts, confirm suitability with ResinTech for your project and protect the surface with a suitable sealer.

How much water per bag?

4.5–5 L of clean water per 50 lb (22.7 kg) bag. Excess water reduces strength and increases shrinkage.

How many bags do I need?

About 16.3 sq ft per bag at 10 mm (theoretical). Use the coverage table above for other thicknesses and allow extra for substrate profile and waste.

Is SLT the same product as ResinTech SLC?

SLT replaces the ResinTech SLC listing. It is now supplied in a 50 lb (22.7 kg) bag with updated mixing, thickness, coverage and shelf-life figures — use the SLT figures on this page and in the SLT TDS v2.1 / SDS v2.0.

Health & Safety

Contains Portland cement and crystalline silica. Wet mortar is alkaline and can cause serious skin and eye burns; dust — including grinding dust — can irritate the eyes and respiratory tract, and repeated inhalation of respirable crystalline silica may cause lung disease. Wear waterproof gloves, eye protection and a suitable respirator; use wet methods or HEPA extraction when grinding. Read the current SDS before use.

Technical information is provided for professional reference only. Product selection, substrate preparation, installation method, coverage, cure time and final performance remain the responsibility of the purchaser, installer and project specifier. Always confirm against the current ResinTech TDS, SDS, project specification and site conditions.
