Mapei PRIMER SN | Solvent-Free Two-Component Epoxy Primer

100% Solids, Solvent-Free Two-Component Epoxy Primer for Concrete and Metal | Brand: Mapei

Mapei PRIMER SN is a 100% solids, solvent-free, two-component epoxy primer for concrete and metal substrates. Designed for professional installers as part of an approved Mapei epoxy or polyurethane floor system. Confirm suitability, coverage, cure time, and system compatibility against the current Mapei TDS, SDS, and project specification before use.

Professional system note: PRIMER SN must be topcoated with a compatible Mapei epoxy or polyurethane system. Do not use as a standalone floor coating. Confirm the full system specification against the current Mapei TDS and project specification before use.

Key Characteristics

100% solids, solvent-free — low VOC; confirm ventilation requirements against the SDS.
Two-component epoxy — requires accurate mixing at the ratio specified in the TDS; confirm pot life and application requirements before use.
Designed to improve adhesion — formulated to improve the bond between concrete or metal substrate and the subsequent coating system; final adhesion depends on substrate condition, preparation, and application method.
Designed to reduce outgassing — formulated to help seal the substrate surface and reduce outgassing; confirm requirements against the TDS.
System compatible — designed for use with compatible Mapei epoxy and polyurethane floor systems; confirm system compatibility against the current Mapei TDS before ordering.

Typical Applications

Primer coat for Mapei epoxy floor systems on concrete
Primer coat for Mapei polyurethane floor systems on concrete and metal
Substrate sealing prior to decorative flake or quartz broadcast systems
Priming for Mapei Ultratop PC polished-concrete topping systems

Mapei Polished Concrete System: PRIMER SN is the primer step in Mapei's published Ultratop PC polished-concrete system — Primer SN epoxy primer → Ultratop PC polishable self-leveling topping (available to order: 250-233-3000) → Mapecrete Hard LI lithium silicate densifier → Mapecrete Protector FF protective coating. Confirm the full system specification against the current Mapei documentation before ordering.

Surface Preparation

Concrete must be mechanically profiled (shot-blasted or ground to the CSP specified in the TDS), clean, dry, and free of laitance, oil, grease, curing compounds, and incompatible coatings. Conduct moisture testing before application. Refer to the current Mapei TDS for substrate-specific preparation requirements and acceptable moisture levels.

Limitations

Must be topcoated with a compatible Mapei system — not a standalone floor coating.
Do not apply to damp, contaminated, or unsound substrates.
Do not apply below minimum temperature or when substrate temperature is within 3°C of the dew point; confirm temperature requirements against the TDS.
Pot life is temperature-dependent — confirm against the TDS before use.

Purchasing Note: All sales are intended for professional and trade purchasers. Before ordering, confirm product availability and lead time, suitability, quantity, system compatibility, substrate condition, pickup timing and delivery requirements.
