The Bobrick B-1556 Series is a metal washroom mirror with no glass at all: 18-8, Type-304, 20-gauge stainless steel polished to a No. 8 mirror finish, backed by 1/4 in. (6 mm) tempered masonite concealed by a 1/4 in. return edge. Because there is nothing to shatter, it suits correctional facilities, schools, transit washrooms and any location where glass is prohibited or vandalism is a concern. Professional note: A No. 8 polished stainless surface gives a slightly softer reflection than glass but cannot shatter — which is why it is specified where safety rules out glass. Bobrick's nominal sizes run 1/2 in. under actual (the 18 x 24 model measures 17-1/2 x 23-1/2 in.); check the TD sheet when sizing. Complies with ADA, ICC A117.1 and CBC with the bottom reflective edge at max 40 in. (1015 mm) AFF.
