Primer for Sika Liquid-Applied Deck Waterproofing Membranes | Brand: Sika

Sika MT Primer is a primer used to prepare concrete and other approved substrates prior to the application of Sika liquid-applied deck waterproofing membranes. It forms part of the Sikalastic®-3900 Traffic System. Confirm substrate suitability, coverage rate and overcoat window against the current Sika TDS, SDS and project specification before use.

Sikalastic®-3900 Traffic System component: applied first, as the priming layer beneath the Sikalastic®-390 base membrane. Confirm the full system build-up, primer requirements and recoat windows against the current Sika system specification.

Key Characteristics

  • Primer designed to promote adhesion of Sika deck membranes to prepared substrates; final bond depends on substrate condition and preparation.
  • Confirm coverage rate and number of coats against the current TDS.
  • Confirm substrate compatibility (concrete and other approved substrates) against the TDS.
  • Confirm pot life, application temperature and overcoat window against the TDS and SDS.

Typical Applications

  • Priming prepared concrete decks prior to Sikalastic®-390 membrane application
  • Vehicular parkades, ramps and traffic decks within the Sikalastic®-3900 Traffic System

Limitations

  • Must be used as part of an approved Sika system — confirm system specification before use.
  • Do not apply to damp, contaminated or unsound substrates.
  • Confirm application temperature and humidity requirements against the TDS.
  • Cure and overcoat times are temperature-dependent — confirm against the TDS.
