ResinTech PPM vs Tremco Vulkem 350NF & 346 — Deck Waterproofing Comparison

Choosing a liquid-applied deck waterproofing membrane? This page compares ResinTech PPM (Protective Polyurea Membrane) with the Tremco Vulkem traffic-deck range as an alternative for parkades, balconies and exposed concrete. Canopus Supply stocks both lines — pickup in North Vancouver; ships across Canada and the USA.

ResinTech PPM — an alternative to Tremco Vulkem deck membranes.
ResinTech PPM is used in the same liquid-applied deck waterproofing and protective-coating applications as conventional urethane deck systems such as Tremco Vulkem 350NF and 346. Product chemistry and system build differ between manufacturers — confirm suitability against the current ResinTech TDS and project specification before substituting. How They Differ

Chemistry. ResinTech PPM is a single-component polyurea that moisture-cures into a seamless, high-elongation membrane. The Vulkem traffic range is polyurethane-based — 350NF as a single-component base-coat membrane, and 346 as an aliphatic one-component top coat.

System build. PPM can act as a stand-alone waterproofing membrane and as a UV-stable protective layer, which can consolidate steps in some assemblies. Vulkem traffic systems are typically multi-component builds — primer, base membrane, aggregate broadcast and top coat — specified together.

Where each fits. Both are specified for parkade decks, balconies and exposed concrete. Selection depends on substrate condition, traffic, exposure and the project specification. Confirm the full assembly and any warranty path against each manufacturer's documentation.

ResinTech PPM — Key Points

  • Single-component polyurea; apply by brush, roller, notched squeegee or airless spray with no mixing
  • Cures into a seamless, high-elongation membrane with UV-stable polyurea chemistry
  • Works as a stand-alone waterproofing membrane or as a protective layer over other ResinTech membranes
  • See the ResinTech PPM product page for published TDS values and coverage, and the ResinTech System Selector to build the full assembly
