Product Description

ResinTech TUE is a 100% solids, zero-VOC clear epoxy base coat that forms the structural foundation of the ResinTech Traffic Coating System. At 100% solids, there is zero shrinkage — every mil applied stays in the film. It delivers exceptional chemical resistance, compressive strength, and adhesion to the CBE prime coat below and the PPM membrane above. TUE is UV-resistant and non-yellowing, preserving clarity and gloss in decorative applications.

Key Benefits

  • 100% Solids: Zero VOC, zero shrinkage — maximum film build per coat with no solvent loss
  • UV Resistance: Maintains gloss and clarity, preventing yellowing under prolonged UV exposure
  • High Gloss Finish: Resilient surface that enhances the appearance of the substrate
  • Chemical Resistance: Protects against acids, alkalis, solvents, and oils
  • Abrasion Resistance: Withstands heavy traffic and mechanical wear for long-term performance
  • System Engineered: Formulated as the base coat in the ResinTech Traffic Coating System

Typical Applications

  • Parkade decks and ramps (base coat in traffic coating system)
  • Industrial and commercial flooring
  • Warehouses and storage areas
  • Garages and automotive service facilities
  • Manufacturing plants and loading docks
  • Commercial kitchens and wash bays
  • Food and beverage — canning, bottling, and distribution
  • Educational environments — laboratories, locker rooms, restrooms, pool decks
  • Medical/pharmaceutical — laboratories, water therapy rooms, corridors

Surface Preparation

Diamond grind or shot blast concrete to ICRI CSP 3–4. Remove all dust, oil, grease, curing compounds, and contaminants. Concrete must be dry. Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point. Apply over a fully cured ResinTech CBE prime coat within the recoat window.

Application Instructions

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure CBE prime coat is fully cured and within the recoat window (14–18 hours at 21°C). Surface must be clean and free of contamination.
  2. Mixing: Combine Part A and Part B at a 2:1 ratio by volume. Pour Part B into Part A. Mix with a low-speed drill for 2–3 minutes, scraping sides and bottom. Do not aerate. Working time is approximately 40–60 minutes at 21°C.
  3. Application: Pour mixed material onto the floor and spread with a notched squeegee. Immediately back-roll with a 3/8" nap roller for a uniform, bubble-free finish. Work in manageable sections.
  4. Broadcast (Optional): For flake or quartz systems, broadcast aggregate into the wet coat to rejection. Allow to cure fully before sweeping excess and applying topcoat.
  5. Curing: Keep foot traffic off for a minimum of 24 hours. Allow 14–18 hours before recoating. Full mechanical cure achieved at 7 days.

Health & Safety

Read the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Wear chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile or neoprene), safety goggles or face shield, and a half-face respirator with organic vapour cartridges during mixing and application. Ensure adequate fresh air ventilation. Epoxy sensitization can occur with repeated skin exposure — always wear gloves. Store in a cool, dry location between 10°C and 30°C.

Part of the ResinTech Traffic Coating System
ResinTech TUE is the base coat in the ResinTech Traffic Coating System — a 100% solids epoxy layer that forms the structural foundation of the system. Applied over the CBE prime coat, TUE delivers exceptional compressive strength, chemical resistance, and adhesion for the PPM waterproofing membrane above it.

Full system:
1. Surface Prep — Diamond grinding to CSP 3–4
2. Crack & Joint Repair — ResinTech PPM-SL
3. Prime Coat — ResinTech CBE (Core Bond Epoxy)
4. Base Coat — ResinTech TUE (100% Solids Epoxy)
5. Membrane Layer — ResinTech PPM (Protective Polymer Membrane)
6. Topcoat — ResinTech HPP or TCU (UV-stable wear surface)

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes TUE different from a standard epoxy primer?

TUE is a 100% solids base coat — not a primer. At 100% solids, there is zero shrinkage and zero VOC loss, meaning every mil applied stays in the film. It delivers significantly higher film build, compressive strength, and chemical resistance than solvent-borne or water-borne epoxy primers.

Does TUE yellow under UV exposure?

TUE is UV-resistant and formulated to resist yellowing, making it suitable for decorative applications and systems where clarity is important. For maximum long-term UV protection on the wear surface, finish with ResinTech HPP or TCU topcoat.

Can TUE be used as a standalone floor coating?

Yes. TUE can be applied as a stand-alone high-build epoxy base coat for warehouses, garages, and industrial floors. For maximum durability and UV stability on the wear surface, finish with ResinTech HPP or TCU topcoat.

Can I broadcast flakes or quartz into TUE?

Yes. TUE is fully compatible with decorative vinyl flake and quartz broadcast systems. Broadcast aggregate into the wet coat to rejection, allow full cure, sweep excess, then apply your topcoat.

How long before I can apply the PPM membrane over TUE?

Recoat window is 14–18 hours at 21°C. Do not exceed the maximum recoat window without abrading the surface — TUE becomes too hard to bond to without mechanical scuffing after 24 hours.
