ResinTech TUE is a 100% solids, two-component transparent universal epoxy for commercial and industrial concrete floor systems. It is used as a primer, reinforcement / build coat and broadcast binder for flake, quartz, metallic and solid-colour systems, and as the premium epoxy layer in ResinTech traffic coating systems, where it may be substituted for CBE. For UV-exposed or exterior applications, specify a UV-stable aliphatic topcoat such as ResinTech HPP polyaspartic topcoat, TCU aliphatic urethane topcoat, or CRU chemical-resistant urethane topcoat where required by the system design.

Performance Properties
Typical values from the ResinTech TUE TDS. Actual results depend on substrate, preparation, mixing, film build and conditions — confirm against the current TDS.
| Property | Typical Value | Test Method / Note |
| Bond Strength to Concrete | 370 psi | ASTM D4541; typically concrete cohesive failure |
| Tensile Strength | 6,500 psi | ASTM D412 / D638 |
| Elongation | 6% | ASTM D412 / D638 |
| Abrasion Resistance | 35 mg loss | ASTM D4060, CS-17 wheel, 1000 g, 1000 cycles (excellent for an epoxy) |
| Shore Hardness | 80 D | ASTM D2240 |
| Tack-Free Time | 10 hours | ASTM D1640 at 15 mils |
| Drying Time | 20 hours at 15 mils | ASTM D1640, 24 °C / 50% RH |
| UV Resistance | UV-resistant epoxy | Not a UV-stable aliphatic topcoat; use HPP/CRU for permanent unprotected UV |
| Chemical Resistance | Excellent | For severe chemical service, topcoat with CRU confirm against TDS |
Working Time, Recoat & Cure
Times vary with temperature, film build and conditions. Large mixed volumes shorten pot life and can create heat. Confirm against the current TDS.
| Temperature | Pot Life | Recoat Window | Light Foot Traffic | Full Cure |
| 10 °C | 60–75 min | 18–24 h | 36–48 h | ~10 days |
| 21 °C | 40–60 min | 14–18 h | ~24 h | ~7 days |
| 30 °C | 20–30 min | 8–12 h | 12–18 h | 4–5 days |
If the surface is hard, glossy or outside the recoat window, sand / abrade, vacuum and clean before recoating.
Coverage & Film Build
Per US gallon. A 15 L kit is approximately 4.0 US gal. Actual coverage varies with profile, porosity, film build and method — confirm against the current TDS.
| Use | Typical Film / Build | Typical Coverage |
| Primer / Base Coat | 8–10 mils | 200–160 ft²/US gal |
| Top Coat | 8–16 mils | 245–120 ft²/US gal depending on profile and build |
| Broadcast Receiver | 10–25 mils before broadcast | 145–80 ft²/US gal plus aggregate |
| Self-Levelling Build Coat | 40–250 mils in controlled pours | By design and mass control |
Application Conditions
Confirm all conditions against the current ResinTech TDS and project specification before use.
| Condition | Requirement |
| Substrate Temperature | 10–30 °C |
| Ambient Temperature | 10–32 °C |
| Relative Humidity | Maximum 85% recommended |
| Dew Point | Substrate at least 3 °C above dew point |
| Concrete Moisture | Dry concrete; typical screening limit 4% Tramex or 85% RH by ASTM F2170 |
| Concrete Age | Normally 28 days unless the designer approves earlier work |
| Minimum Concrete Strength | 3,600 psi compressive and 220 psi tensile pull-off |
System Compatibility
Confirm all system combinations against the current ResinTech TDS and project specification before use.
| System Layer | Compatible Products |

Application Notes
Always confirm application requirements against the current TDS, SDS and project specification before use.
Frequently Asked Questions
What systems is TUE used in?
TUE is the premium epoxy reinforcement / build layer in ResinTech traffic systems (PTS, VTS and EWS), where it may be substituted for CBE, and the epoxy build layer in flake, quartz, metallic and solid-colour floor systems. See the full range of ResinTech floor coating systems at Canopus Supply. Confirm system design against the current ResinTech TDS.
Does TUE yellow under UV exposure?
TUE is more UV-resistant than ordinary epoxies and resists yellowing better than standard epoxy, but it is not a UV-stable aliphatic system. For long-term colour stability in UV-exposed or exterior applications, use a compatible UV-stable aliphatic topcoat such as ResinTech HPP, TCU or CRU. Confirm system suitability against the current TDS.
Can TUE be used on exterior surfaces?
TUE may be used in interior and protected exterior assemblies; for permanent unprotected exterior UV exposure, specify a UV-stable aliphatic topcoat over it. Confirm suitability against the current TDS and project specification.
How do I get a super high-gloss finish?
TUE cures glossy with a slight satin character. For a mirror-like, super high-gloss result, ResinTech recommends CBE (Core Bond Epoxy). Confirm finish expectations against the current TDS.
