Product Description

HPP is engineered for fast-turnaround projects where rapid return to service is critical. It returns to foot traffic in 4–6 hours and reaches full cure in 24 hours. Aliphatic chemistry provides excellent UV stability and non-yellowing performance. HPP can cure at temperatures just above freezing and is tolerant to 300°F (149°C) for incidental heat contact. Available in low VOC and zero VOC formulations with decorative options including flakes, particles, logos, and traction agents.

Key Benefits

  • Fast Return to Service: Foot traffic in 4–6 hours; full cure in 24–48 hours
  • Excellent UV Resistance: Non-yellowing with high gloss retention under prolonged UV exposure
  • Low Temperature Application: Cures at temperatures just above freezing; can be applied below −20°F (−28.9°C) with special handling
  • Chemical Resistance: Resists Skydrol, oils, fuels, and industrial chemicals
  • Hot Tire Resistance: Resistant to hot tire peel
  • High Build: Up to 10–12 mils per lift
  • Low Odor: Lower odor than most polyaspartics
  • VOC Compliant: Available in low VOC and zero VOC formulations; compliant in all 50 states and Canada

Typical Applications

  • Parkade decks and ramps (topcoat in traffic coating system)
  • Garage and residential floors
  • Aircraft hangars, industrial shops, and maintenance facilities
  • Commercial kitchens, car washes, and wash bays
  • Warehouses, manufacturing plants, and loading docks
  • Educational and medical environments — laboratories, locker rooms, restrooms, pool decks
  • Marine protection for fiberglass, steel, and concrete

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between HPP and TCU as a topcoat?

Both are UV-stable aliphatic topcoats. HPP cures faster — foot traffic in 4–6 hours — making it the preferred choice for fast-turnaround projects. TCU offers superior long-term colour retention and gloss stability and is preferred for sun-exposed exterior environments where maximum durability over years is the priority.

Can HPP be applied in cold weather?

Yes. HPP cures at temperatures just above freezing and can be applied below −20°F (−28.9°C) with special handling procedures. This makes it one of the most versatile topcoats for Canadian climate conditions.

Is HPP resistant to hot tire pickup?

Yes. HPP is specifically formulated to resist hot tire peel — a common failure mode in garage and parkade floors where vehicle tires transfer heat to the coating surface.

Can HPP be used over flake broadcast systems?

Yes. HPP is an excellent topcoat over full-broadcast flake systems. Apply at 10 mils over vinyl chips for optimal coverage and durability.

How long before the floor can return to service after HPP application?

Light foot traffic is possible after 4–6 hours at 25°C. Full service cure is achieved in 24–48 hours — significantly faster than epoxy or urethane alternatives.
