Tremco Vulkem® 45SSL Semi-Self-Levelling Polyurethane Sealant

Tremco Vulkem® 45SSL — Semi-Self-Levelling Polyurethane Sealant

Single-component, moisture-curing, traffic-rated polyurethane joint sealant · 1 qt cartridges (box of 12), 2 gal and 5 gal pails · 5 colours | Brand: Tremco | Model: Vulkem 45SSL

Vulkem 45SSL is a single-component, semi-self-levelling, moisture-curing polyurethane sealant for expansion joints in horizontal applications. It is intended for sidewalks, swimming pool decks, plazas, floors and other horizontal surfaces with slopes up to 6% (a 1 ft rise for every 16 ft of run). Unlike many pourable sealants, it can be used on sloped horizontal joints, and it adheres to damp or green concrete without outgassing. Browse the full Tremco range at Canopus Supply.

Performance Highlights

Key Characteristics

• Semi-self-levelling — flows into horizontal joints and stays put on slopes up to 6%.
• Damp and green concrete — adheres to damp or green concrete without outgassing (ASTM C794: > 15 pli on each).
• Primerless adhesion — to most porous substrates; adhesion to concrete 31 pli, 28 pli after water immersion (ASTM C794).
• Traffic rated — low modulus, UV resistant and jet fuel resistant, with the wear resistance high-traffic areas require.
• Immersion — suitable for continuous immersion in non-chlorinated water.
• Tensile and tear — tensile strength 250–300 psi, tear strength 35 psi (ASTM D412).
• Standards — meets or exceeds ASTM C920, Type S, Grade P, Class 35, Use T, M, A, O and I (Class 2); CAN/CGSB 19.13-M87, MC-1-25-B-N; ASTM E1966 / UL 2079.
• Colours — Black, Buff, Gray, Limestone and White. See the Tremco construction sealants colour chart (PDF).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Vulkem 45SSL be used on a sloped joint?

Yes, on horizontal surfaces with slopes up to 6% (a 1 ft rise for every 16 ft of run).

Does it need a primer?

Tremco states primerless adhesion to most porous substrates. Confirm against the Tremco urethane sealant application instructions for your substrate.

Can it go on new concrete?

Yes. Vulkem 45SSL adheres to damp or green concrete without outgassing.

Can I buy a single cartridge?

Cartridges are sold by the box of 12. For smaller quantities, call 250-233-3000.

Limitations
