ResinTech PPM is a premium single-component, moisture-cured polyurea that reacts with ambient humidity to form a continuous, seamless, pinhole-free elastomeric membrane. It builds a tough, highly flexible, UV-stable film with excellent adhesion to concrete and steel, and is applied by brush, roller, notched squeegee or airless spray on horizontal, vertical and inclined surfaces. PPM is used both as a stand-alone liquid-applied waterproofing membrane and as a UV-stable protective topcoat over ResinTech FLEXCOAT-PU and other ResinTech membranes within approved ResinTech assemblies — confirm the system build, film thickness, primer and topcoat requirements for each use against the current TDS and project specification.

As a true single-component polyurea, ResinTech PPM combines high elongation (typical 648% — see properties below), fast single-product application with no on-site proportioning, and UV-stable chemistry. Because it can be installed as a stand-alone waterproofing membrane and as a UV-stable, wear-resistant topcoat, it consolidates multiple products into one system — used in the same applications as, and as an alternative to, conventional liquid-applied polyurea and PU deck membranes such as Sikalastic TC 225 and Tremco 346. Product performance and system build differ between manufacturers; always confirm suitability against the current TDS and project specification before substituting any product.

Canopus Supply does not design waterproofing, roofing, containment or occupied-space assemblies. Roofing, tank, containment, below-grade and occupied-space applications require project-specific approval from the manufacturer and a qualified project specifier before use.

Substrates & Surface Preparation

Substrates must be structurally sound, clean, dry and free of bond-inhibiting contaminants. Concrete: minimum 28-day cure; mechanically profile to CSP 3 (ICRI). Steel: abrasive-blast to near-white metal (SSPC-SP 10 / NACE No. 2). Cracks & joints: embed reinforcing fabric where movement is anticipated. Priming: ResinTech CBE or TUE may be used to enhance adhesion. Keep the substrate at least 3 °C above the dew point during application and cure.

Application & Curing

Apply directly from the container by brush, roller, squeegee or airless spray — no proportioning required. Recommended dry film thickness (waterproofing): 47–59 mils (1.2–1.5 mm). Consumption: ~1.5–1.8 kg/m². Coverage: ~2.0–2.5 m²/L (≈80–100 ft²/US gal) per coat, method- and thickness-dependent. Do not exceed the recommended single-coat film thickness (blistering risk). Clean tools with solvent before cure.

Cure (typical, 20 °C / 50% RH): tack-free 2–3 h; recoat window 16–24 h; through-dry ~9 h; full cure 24–48 h. Cure and recoat times lengthen at lower temperatures, lower humidity, or in poorly ventilated spaces; confirm conditions before recoating.

Roof build: Over occupied space, apply as a multi-coat system — three lifts at ~20–25 mils wet each, ~60 mils (≈1.5 mm) total dry. Non-occupied roofs: ~20–25 mils total is typical. Confirm final film thickness and detailing against project design.

UV note: ResinTech PPM is a UV-stable polyurea. Owing to its polyurea chemistry, it resists the cracking, embrittlement and loss of waterproofing integrity associated with UV exposure, and is suitable for exposed exterior use as a topcoat over FLEXCOAT-PU and other ResinTech membranes or as a stand-alone membrane. As with all liquid-applied coatings, ultimate exterior durability and any change in surface colour or gloss depend on film build, detailing, application quality and exposure conditions; confirm suitability for the specific exposure against the current TDS and project specification. Where a specific long-term colour or gloss appearance is required, finish with a ResinTech colour-stable topcoat (e.g., HPP or TCU).

Abrasion note: Under Taber testing (ASTM D4060, CS-17 wheel, 1000 g load, 1000 cycles), PPM showed no measurable mass loss. This is attributed to the coating's high elasticity, which deforms elastically under the abrasive wheel rather than eroding. Taber mass-loss characterizes grinding abrasion and is not a substitute for a traffic-wear rating; specify a wear topcoat for sustained traffic.

Packaging, Storage & Shelf Life

Packaging: 10 L pails. Storage: cool, dry, 5–30 °C; protect from direct sunlight, moisture ingress and freezing. Shelf life: 12 months unopened.

Limitations

• Do not exceed the recommended single-coat film thickness (blistering risk).
• Use reinforcing fabric at cracks and expansion joints.
• Not intended as a vapor barrier or for negative-side hydrostatic pressure without additional design measures.
• Not a rated traffic-wear surface on its own under sustained foot or vehicle traffic — protect with a compatible ResinTech topcoat.
• Confirm suitability for immersion or chemical service against project conditions.
