It's UV-stable so it won't yellow, and it resists abrasion, chemicals, and hot-tire pickup better than a bare epoxy surface. Choosing for your situation

For a home garage where downtime isn't critical, an epoxy base with a flake broadcast and a polyaspartic topcoat is the durable, good-looking standard. A capable DIYer can manage it with careful prep.

For a commercial shop or fast-turnaround job, the fast cure of a polyaspartic topcoat is often worth the premium to get the space back in service.

For a budget single-coat refresh, a straight epoxy can work — but set expectations: without a topcoat it won't match the UV stability or wear life of a full system.
